Gaia:
Fashion Show x Careers Programme
Vision
At GAIA, our vision is to inspire positive change and promote sustainability in all aspects of our community. The recent fundraiser fashion show, in collaboration with Ms. Sarah Cox and the IB Careers Programme students at BSJ, was a reflection of our commitment to this vision. By auctioning over 20 unique looks and hosting a boutique with affordable vintage pieces, we encouraged sustainable fashion practices and provided an accessible opportunity for everyone to be a part of our mission.
Mission
Our mission is to empower individuals and bring together different communities to take action toward sustainability. We aim to raise funds for the students of Sekolah Bisa and showcase the power of creative collaboration and responsible consumption. By encouraging small but impactful actions, we hope to create a widespread movement that drives positive change and fosters a more responsible and sustainable way of life. Through collective effort and determination, we can build a brighter, more equitable world for all.
Process
The concept had been in the works for some time, but it was Ms. Alwi who brought it to our attention after our first exhibition. Over several months, we worked closely together to bring Ms. Cox's vision to life, organizing logistics such as the venue, models, and clothes. We enlisted the help of the Careers Programme students, who played a vital role in organizing the event. Together, we held a clothing drive in BSJ and auctioned off over 20 looks at the show.

Sekolah Bisa
Our fashion show was organized to support the educational trips of the students at Sekolah Bisa. With the overwhelming support of the BSJ community, we raised more than enough funds to help these children expand their horizons beyond the classroom.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Fanya, Anjani, and Sally for graciously modelling for our fashion show, which was held to fundraise for Sekolah Bisa kids. Not only did they help us showcase our clothing collection, but they also made the day extra special by inviting the children to watch the show and join in the modelling fun!
